Samsung wants to go from 0 to 7% in laptop sales in Romania

Samsung, a major global producer of electronics, wants to reach a 7% share of the domestic portable computer market (notebooks and netbooks) this year, which will rise by 10%, maintains Sebastian Cucu, chairman of the company's IT Solutions unit.

Samsung launched seven laptop models domestically, targeting the consumer segment, which will have prices starting from 2,000 RON, according to Samsung representatives.

This is the first time the company sells such products domestically. "We're launching the new products at a moment the market is not moving outstandingly, but laptops are a segment that goes very well," Cucu stated.

According to Cucu, the domestic portable computer market will see growth of 10% this year, to around 450,000 units. "Growth will be stronger in the second half of the year, with the first half being still uncertain," the Samsung representative added.
