Americans investing USD 200 M in biofuel in Prahova

The ‘Farmers Ethanol’ company that owns a series of biofuel refineries in the US plans to expand its activity on 400 hectares in Ciorani commune and to build an agriculture and energy centre, ‘Adevarul’ daily informs.

The American company that is preparing to invest USD 200 M in Prahova County and the leadership of the Ploiesti Industrial Park has signed a memorandum of understanding.

The document stipulates that the industrial park will rent the entire area it owns in Ciorani for six months’ time, the American company set to conduct a feasibility study during that period.

Apart from the centre that will produce ethanol from corn and natural gas from biomass, the company will set up a farm with 8,000 cattle, a slaughterhouse and a dairy factory.
